Noë breathed. Deep, slow inhale. Longer, slower exhale. Her introscopic daemon complimented her on managing her anxiety. She would have laughed, but she was afraid she might cry.

She was alone now.

Not even static on the headset. Annoying as Onion could be, at least he was human. Here, in this wizard’s shiptower ... not many humans.

She opened her eyes a little and her stomach churned. Not so bad now that it was empty. The upsetting inverted colors and swimming perspective made her ill, but the breathing was helping.

Behind her, the mirror portal stood solid, shut, and mirrorless. One-way. Well, she was where she wanted to be. Vorus Hafut’s real tower. Or deep tower. The epicenter of this timelost mess.

The shadows glowed, the lights sucked at her eyes, the reds burned with ultraviolet radiation, the blues shifted into the infrared. Her Giger detector pinged with the threat of strange, corrupted alien forms beyond the walls.

Where would a stupid post-human wizard put the blueprince scroll collection? And, more vital, where would he put the exit?

SDM: MAGITECNICA - Codex 1 - The Use and Misuse of Powers Great and Small is a volume of powers and rules and spells for use with the synthetic dream machineroleplaying system and the UVG undying earth trail setting.

Loosely compatible with most OSR roleplaying games that use levels (or hit dice, as some named them) and life scores (or hit points, as the ancients knew them).

• Cutaway map of the shiptower Haruspex, captained by the wizard Vorus, for when you need a fantasy sorsciencer's tower. Also in high resolution.
• 25 magitechnical powers in 4 albums, including the blood bullet gun fu of the Viridian Practice and the travel powers of the Dawn's Highway.
• Original and reused illustrations by the author. Purportedly some are rather nice.
• Cryptic in-world fictions. Terrible purple prose. Just the way you like it.
• Rules for using powers fueled by characters' lives (or hit points).
• Mechanics for creating new powers.
• Corruption tables for mutating characters when they misuse powers.
